Everybody experiences exhaustion some times but if ongoing (fatigue) and interfering with daily life, it may be due to  health condition  that requires medical management.  Most commonly exhaustion is caused by combination of lifestyle (work-social-life) and dietary stressors  that in combination are placing a high burden on body and mind, in particular to immune, hormone and nervous systems.   In a state of exhaustion (energy crisis and low reserves) the immune and nervous system can become woundup and very sensitive (sensitised)  to sensory stimuli, movement, pain and stress.
